If you’ve been anywhere on TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram lately, you’ve probably seen the VIRAL blush pink MacBook Neo everywhere. This is Apple’s “budget friendly” laptop, starting at $599! & Only $499 for education pricing! INSANE value for a MacBook… let’s talk about it!
After spending real time using it for work, content creation, and even a little bit of gaming (yes, The Sims included), I wanted to share my honest thoughts!! Just as an everyday user who cares about aesthetics, functionality, and value! And of course… it is a PINK MACBOOK. Yup. A PINK MacBook!!!
First Impressions: The Aesthetic is PERFECTIONNN! 🤩
Let’s start with the obvious: this laptop is so pretty!!!!!!
The soft blush pink finish is what initially drew me in, and in person, it’s even better. I screamed when I first laid eyes on it at the Apple launch experience in New York City!! If you love clean, minimal setups with a feminine touch, this laptop fits perfectly into that vibe. I also LOVE that they keyboards are slightly color matched to each color of the MacBook Neo!
Setup & Customization: Making It Feel Like Mine
One of my favorite parts of getting a new laptop is customizing it, and the MacBook Neo makes that really easy. MacOS is an extreme perk of getting a MacBook & joining the Apple Ecosystem… Here are a few of my fav tips!

- An organized aesthetic wallpaper setup
- A flip clock screensaver for that clean, minimal feel
- Pink-tinted app icons and accent colors
- Dock customization to keep everything simple and functional

Performance: What It’s Actually Like to Use Daily 💻
Going into this, I didn’t expect this laptop to replace my high-end MacBook Pro, but I was curious how it would hold up for everyday use.
Here’s what I’ve been using it for:
- Editing content
- Browsing and multitasking
- Working from coffee shops
- Light gaming (The Sims đź‘€)
So far I’ve been really impressed. Everything feels smooth and responsive for daily tasks. It handles multiple apps open at once without feeling overwhelming, and for casual gaming, it performs better than I expected. Check out my review video for more tests of everyday user apps!
Who This Laptop is Perfect For…
I think this is where the MacBook Neo really shines. This laptop is perfect if you are:
- A student
- A content creator
- Someone working remotely or in coffee shops
- A casual user who values aesthetics and simplicity
It’s especially ideal if you’ve been wanting a MacBook but couldn’t justify the price of higher-end models. Plus, if you decide you like it & if it ends up not being enough for you, then you could always upgrade to a MacBook Air someday! It is just a great entry MacBook…. and I still can’t get over the blush pink!
Things to Keep in Mind đź’
To keep it honest, there are a few things worth mentioning:
- It’s not designed for heavy-duty editing or intensive programs
- If you’re a power user, you may want something more advanced.
- Storage and performance are great for everyday use, but not extreme workloads

The MacBook Neo is aesthetic, functional, and surprisingly capable for its price point.
